As a prosecutor, I saw how relentless prosecution could destroy the lives of those accused of crimes. I witnessed punishment that exceeded the necessary and hypocritical prosecutors whose holy grail was a conviction, not justice. It compelled me to take my trial skills and compassion for the accused into private criminal defense. I use modern approaches to jury selection and trials that modern juries can understand and relate to. I know the system; I know the players and I have the talents to be your best defense in your toughest of times.
I received my bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University and proudly received my Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School, one of the finest trial advocacy schools in the nation.
My introduction into the courtroom began with my employment by the District Attorney of Bexar County to serve as a prosecutor in the trial division. After leaving the District Attorney's Office with over a 95% success rate with juries, I put my skills to work as a criminal defense lawyer where my success has continued.
My approach to criminal law fully utilizes my background and passions in science. During my education at A&M, I developed an interest in the soft sciences such as psychology, sociology and statistical analysis. I still heavily rely on these disciplines when I am negotiating a case, arguing in front of a jury or when I am retained as a jury consultant.
